It’s hard to believe that 10 years have passed since I was part of the inaugural induction back in 1999. I am looking forward to being a part of this year’s 10 th anniversary celebration.” “Being honored obviously made the weekend extremely special, but the schedule of events and the class and quality of each and every one of those functions simply took it over the top. The people, the hospitality, the attention to detail...all of those things were impeccable and made it even that much more memorable.” Special WBHOF Hours for the 2008 Induction Weekend SMARTFIX 40 HITS DOWNTOWN MAY 1 Don't let the construction on Interstate 40 stop you from coming to visit the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame! Rutgers coach C. Vivian Stringer and Tennessee coach Pat Summitt graciously participated in a one-hour autograph session to kick off the two-day basketball collection event. Anyone who donated a basketball to the cause during that one hour was given the opportunity to get an autograph from the two Hall of Fame coaches. The Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame teamed up with World Vision, WIVK and the University of Tennessee athletics to host a two-day basketball collection event to benefit World Vision’s “Get Kids in the Game” campaign. Over the two days, the Hall of Fame collected 841 basketballs, which will be turned over to World Vision and donated to children around the world who do not have access to recreational equipment. Pat Summitt and C. Vivian Stringer, both Hall of Fame Inductees, were at the Hall to kick off the event with a one-hour autograph session. “I think the fact that Coach Summitt and Coach Stringer jumped on board to promote the World Vision’s Get Kids in the Game program this year was fantastic,” Mike Lane said. “We hope to expand and link up with the WBCA and the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame to get more involvement from other coaches and other programs.” A special thanks to the following groups and individuals for their generous donations: SHOP ‘TILL YOU DROP Love to shop?
