  • As a high school head coach, Lombard has compile a 1261-117 record in 38 years • He won 1,000 games before losing 100 games
  • Lombard has led Nazareth and Canyon High Schools to 18 State Championships
  • In his first year of coaching at Nazareth High School, he guided his team to the State title
  • Lombard was named the 2003 USA Today Coach of the Year, the 2003 WBCA National High School Coach of the Year, and the 2011 Max Preps National Coach of the Year
  • Over 100 of his high school players have received college scholarships
  • Lombard received the 2015 Morgan Wooten Special Achievement Award from Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame
  • Lombard was the recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award Harley Redin Coach Award from Wayland Baptist University
  • He was inducted into the Texas Basketball Hall of Fame in 2007 and the Texas Girls Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2008
  • Lombard was named by Amarillo Globe News as one of the 100 Best Sports Legends of the 20th Century
