R Lee Richter

Manager of Youth Programs & Technology 

R. Lee Richter is the Manager of Youth Programs and Technology at the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame, where he also helps preserve and organize the Hall’s growing archives. Since joining the Hall in 2022 assisting with event setup, Richter has expanded his role through technology support, tour leadership, and youth engagement. Through giving tours and solving technology issues throughout the building, he developed a deep passion for the history of women’s basketball and the incredible obstacles women overcame to build the game into what it is today. Richter enjoys sharing the story of a time when women were expected to play in cold gyms where they could not run, dribble, or even sweat, all while wearing full wool uniforms, and comparing it to the exciting growth of the sport today. Working with youth programs provides him the opportunity to inspire the next generation by teaching children that women’s basketball was not always widely accepted and encouraging them to continue elevating the game for the future.
