Tara VanDerveer

• Served as head coach at Stanford University (1985 - 2024)
• Was named Big Ten Coach of the Year (1984, 1985)
• Guided Stanford University to NCAA national championship titles (1990, 1992, 2021)
• Took a year's sabbatical from Stanford to direct the U.S. National Team to a 52-0 record in pre-Olympic exhibition play and a perfect 8-0 mark en route to the Olympic gold medal in Atlanta (1996)
• Led the United States to gold medals at the World University Games (1991) and the Goodwill Games (1994), along with a bronze medal at the World Championships (1994)
• Was named National Coach of the Year five times (1988, 1989, 1990, 2011, 2021)
• Was named Pac-10/Pac-12 Conference Coach of the Year 18 times over the course of her Stanford tenure
• Won 26 Pac-12 regular-season titles and 15 Pac-12 Tournament championships across 38 seasons at Stanford
• Retired in 2024 as the winningest coach in NCAA basketball history, men's or women's, finishing with a 1,216-271 record over 45 seasons at Idaho, Ohio State, and Stanford
