Was named National Coach of the Year by the Women's Basketball News Service and the Columbus Touchdown Club (1993)
Was named National Coach of the Year by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (1994)
Guided the USA Basketball World Championship for Young Women's Qualifying Team to a gold medal in Brazil (2002)
Served a two-year term as president of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (2001–2003)
Retired in 2006 after 24 seasons at Texas Tech with a 572-189 record and eight conference championships (five in the Southwest Conference, three in the Big 12)
Directed Texas Tech to 18 NCAA Tournament appearances, including 16 straight, reaching the Sweet 16 eleven times and the Elite Eight four times
Saw Texas Tech post a 97 percent graduation rate under her leadership
Has had both a campus building (the Marsha Sharp Center for Student-Athletes) and a Lubbock freeway (the Marsha Sharp Freeway) named in her honor
Has served as Texas Tech's Associate Athletic Director for Special Projects since 2011
