Coordinated the first NAIA Women's Basketball Championship, setting the foundation for a tournament that grew from a field of eight teams to 32 (1981)
Served as an assistant coach and manager for the U.S. team at the Pan American Games and World Championships (1983)
Served as president of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), becoming the first woman selected to head a national body governing both men's and women's intercollegiate athletics (1988-89)
Was instrumental in the formation of the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame
Served on numerous committees, including the Kodak All-America, Wade Trophy, AIAW, and NCAA Rules Committees
Received the First Lady Award from the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union
Had the coach's award presented annually to the championship coach at the NAIA Tournament named in her honor
