  • Was a six-time AAU All-American, earning All-America accolades with Nashville Business College (1952, 1956 and 1957) and with Wayland Baptist College (1958, 1959 and 1960)
  • Represented the United States in the first World Championship, helping the U.S. win gold in Santiago, Chile (1953)
  • Represented the United States in the second World Championship, helping the U.S. win gold in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (1957)
  • Toured internationally with USA squads that competed against Soviet Union teams (1958 and 1960)
  • Earned a gold medal with the United States' Pan American Games team (1959)
