Mildred Barnes

• Served on the U.S. Olympic Women's Basketball Committee, later serving as its chair (1965-72, chair 1974-76)
• Served on a variety of Division for Girls and Women in Sport (DGWS) basketball committees, including as editor of the DGWS Basketball Guide and as rules interpreter (1965-66, 1966-69)
• Collegiate coaching experience includes time at the University of Iowa, where her team placed fourth in the first intercollegiate national tournament, and at Central Missouri State University, where she compiled a record of 156-63 (Iowa 1966-69; Central Missouri State 1971-80)
• Served as President of the National Association for Girls and Women in Sport (1973-74)
• Served as Chief of Mission for the U.S. women's basketball team at the World Championships and as manager of the team at the Pan American Games (1975)
• Was coordinator of the U.S. Olympic Basketball Trials and Training held at Central Missouri State University (1976)
• Served as head coach for the United States women's basketball team that competed in the inaugural Jones Cup Tournament in Taiwan (1977)
